Naming the Sickle Cell Nursing Lecture
Do you know a nurse that has made extraordinary contributions to the care of individuals and families living with sickle cell?
A Nursing Named Lecture, to be given annually beginning in 2012 at the Annual Sickle Cell Disease Research and Educational Symposium & Annual National Sickle Cell Disease Scientific Meeting, will be named for a nurse that meets the following criteria:
1. Is widely recognized as a sickle cell nurse
2. Has made significant achievements in SCD nursing
3. Has a record of collaboration with other health professionals
You may nominate a nurse for the honor of having the annual Nursing Lecture named for him or her by submitting a brief essay (300 words or less) that addresses each of the criteria via e-mail to Lauren Whiteman at Lwhiteman@mhs.net. The deadline for nominations is Monday October 31st.
Submit your nomination(s) today. Note that you do not have to be a nurse to nominate a nurse.
Nursing Abstracts and Vignettes
Research abstracts and clinical/educational vignettes are being accepted in the category of Nursing. Please consider submitting your work so that we can all learn from your experience. Click here for abstract or clinical vignette instructions.
Travel
We know that the cost of travel is often challenging- especially during these difficult economic times. If you have means to support a colleague in any way, please consider doing so. Additionally, for those who would like to share a room with someone at the conference, please contact Lauren Whiteman at lwhiteman@mhs.net.
